Land Promotion – Essex
Promotion of a strategic site in Uttlesford district. The masterplan identifies approximately 4.0ha for residential development, providing the potential for up to 140 dwellings at a density of around 35 dwellings per hectare. The remaining 15ha has been shaped around strategic flood alleviation, ecological enhancement and public realm improvements, forming a coherent green and blue infrastructure network across the site.
The flood management strategy draws on the Norwegian Hælug inspired flood alleviation system, subtly expressed within the landscape to provide resilience while contributing positively to character and amenity. This approach maintains the natural topography and avoids development within the existing flood risk areas, particularly along the eastern edge of the site.
